Watford will Remember: Watford's beacon lighting ceremony

As Remembrance Sunday approaches there will be a number of services and events taking place across the town as well as poppy displays and a beacon lighting to mark the end of the First World War.

The Beacons will symbolise the 'light of hope' that emerged from the darkness of war.

Watford's beacon lighting ceremony will take place in the gardens of Watford Museum at 7pm on Sunday 11 November and will be a chance to pay your personal and community tribute to those millions that gave their lives for their country during the dreadful darkness of four years of War.

More details will follow regarding poppy displays and events.

Watford Borough Councillors will also be funding the purchase of a number of 6ft Tommy silhouettes which will be displayed throughout the town as part of the national Installation for the Fallen.
